De-addiction
Complete dependence on a certain drug or circumstance is addiction. Other than alcohol and narcotics, a range of substances are included in substance addiction. Among other things, situational addiction involves sex, shopping, and gambling. The issue with addiction
in our society is that it is viewed more as a personal preference than as a serious issue. The process of overcoming an individual’s dependency on particular substances or activities is
known as de-addiction.
Addiction alters the user’s attitude and personality in addition to their physical decline. An addict tends to develop manipulative, pathologically deceitful, aggressive, and thieving personality qualities that require improvement. Treatment options range from intense psycho-social therapies to medically managing withdrawal symptoms via detoxification.
